The World Heritage Committee will consider proposals for the inscription of 29 sites on the UNESCO List of World Heritage at its 40th session to be held in Constantinople from 10 to 20 July 2016and will be chaired by Ambassador Lale Ulker, CEO promotion abroad and Cultural Affairs in the MinistryTurkish Foreign Affairs.The meeting held at the Congress Centre.During the session, the Committee has scheduled, at the request of Turkey,to include the Medieval Armenian capital of Ani, on the list ofWorld Heritage.This request on the part of Turkey is illegal SINCE the medieval Armenian capital of Aniest located on the territory of Western Armenia.We recall here that Western Armenia is now occupied by the Turkish state.That is why the National Council of Western Armenia condemns this act of misappropriation heritage of an ancient and indigenous people by falsifying history, legal reality, contrary to international law and the award of President W. A petition an international level was broadcast recently.
The Armenian indigenous people of Western Armenia and human rights defenders the man of the world denounce the misappropriation of the medieval capital Armenian Ani which is located on the territory of Western Armenia, State today
occupied by Turkey that got all the international recognition by the Council Supreme Allied Powers in 1920, and whose borders were determined by the Arbitral Award of President Woodrow Wilson.
Armenians around the world and human rights activists will not allow this misappropriation and request UNESCO and the Member States to a halt once and for all this infernal machine which after the systematic destruction of the people Armenian Western Armenia continues appropriating, exploiting and destroying a culturally ancient and indigenous civilization.
By agreeing to include the medieval Armenian capital of Ani on the heritage list world cultural demand of Turkey and without the approval of the Armenian people of Western Armenia, UNESCO would commit an act contrary to international law, the basis of the principle of prior, free and informed with existing treaties and Arbitral Award of President Woodrow Wilson.
